More detail on this person: Allan L Lippert, 63 Obituaries Sarasota Herald-Tribune (FL) - Friday, December 17, 2004 Allan L. Lippert, 63, Bradenton, died Dec. 13, 2004. He was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Chicago and came to Bradenton in 1950 from there. He was a professor at Manatee Community College and Bethune-Cookman College. He was a 1959 graduate of Palmetto High School. He received an associate's degree in history from Manatee Community College, a bachelor's degree in education, a bachelor's degree in social sciences and a master's degree in behavioral sciences from the University of South Florida and his LLB/JD in criminal law from Blackstone School of Law. He published 13 college textbooks and 83 articles. He served as president and vice president of the Florida Society of Geographers, and served on the advisory board of the Florida Geographic Alliance. He was a charter member of the National Space Foundation, a working member of the National Geographic Society and a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Gamma Upsilon. He was a chief warrant officer in the Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Air Medal, a Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal, RVN Cross of Gallantry, Vietnam Campaign Medal with battle star and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was a Catholic. Survivors include his father, Al of Crystal River; his mother, Lucille Kocharski of Jacksonville; sisters Barbara Picard of Bradenton, Lorraine Guidugli of Crystal Hills, Ky., Janet Inman of Jacksonville, Judy Smith of Lansing, Mich., and Stephanie Armato of Crystal River; and brothers Ronald and Robert, both of Palmetto and Ronnie of Crystal River. The visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today, with a service to follow, at Kicliter Funeral Home in Palmetto. Burial will be at Palmetto City Cemetery.
