More detail on this person: John Lesser, 80 Lesser Lesser, Altus Times (OK) - Thursday, May 9, 2013 John Lesser, Jr., 80, passed away May 6, 2013 in Oklahoma City. He was born Dec. 28, 1932 in Longmont, Colo., to John Daniel and Florance Irene (Mundt) Lesser. He graduated from Mead High School. John continued his education by getting a bachelor's degree in Vocational Agriculture and while in the military went on to receive a Masters degree in Aerospace Operations Management. After retiring from the Air Force, he went back to school for an associate degree in Business Management. On Feb. 16, 1957 John married Dawn Mae Krom in Longmont, Colo. She preceded him in death on Nov. 30, 2010. John joined the United States Air Force where he served for 28 years as an officer before retiring on April 1, 1985 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonial at the Air Force base in Altus. John was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed flying model airplanes, investments, fishing, hunting, watching stock car races, and helping out his family and friends. John was preceded in death by his wife Dawn; his parents; his brother, Frank Lesser; and his sister, Beverly Irene Smith. He is survived by his son, John D Lesser; his daughter, Janet L Freemyer; his brother, Daniel Lesser; four grandchildren, Catherine D. Lesser, Julie L. Lesser, Saesha (Miranda) Raker, and William Miranda; and three great-grandchildren, Allana Raker, Sunny Davis, and Noah Rodrigues De Miranda. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m.; with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Logan National cemetery at 2 p.m. at staging area A. Memorial contributions can be made to the Missions Committee at FBC Norman Oklahoma, 211 West Comanche, Norman OK 73069.
