More detail on this person: James Raymond Locke, 63 James Raymond Locke Grand Rapids Herald-Review (MN) - Tuesday, September 14, 2010 James Raymond Locke, 63, of Bovey, passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2010. Jim was born in Morris, Minn., to Donald and Marie Locke. He graduated from Osseo (MN) High School in 1965 and attended the University of Minnesota, 1965 to 1967. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps (1967 to 1972) as a helicopter pilot. He served in Vietnam and was awarded 27 bronze stars and attained the rank of Captain. Jim was a loving husband and father who cherished his sons and grandchildren. He loved working on his artwork, and was an amazing cook. He was an avid fan of the Twins and the Vikings. He was preceded in death by his wife, Toni in 2007; daughter, Nicole Marie Locke; parents Donald and Marie; and siblings, Jeff and Nancy, and infant brother, Jerry. Surviving family includes his sons, Charles, of Bovey, Michael (Michelle) of Grand Forks, N.D., and Andrew (Allison) Ferweda, Grand Rapids; sister Claudia Locke, Deer River; brother, Greg Locke, Alpha, Ill.; grandchildren, Hunter, Peyton, McKenzie, Dominic, Coral, and Emma; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his beloved cat, Tigger. Service: Visitation begins at 12:00 with the Memorial Service beginning at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16 in the Libbey Funeral Home, Grand Rapids. Military Honors: Grand Rapids Area Veterans
