More detail on this person: Neal A Long TYBEE ISLAND -- Neal A. Long, 65, died Feb. 4 at home. The New York native retired from the Air Force as a pilot in 1983 and moved to Tybee the same year. He served for 22 years in the Air Force, part of that time as a rescue helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. Since his retirement he had been employed as a flight instructor at Flight Safety International. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Catholic Church. SURVIVORS: his wife, Dorothy Higgins Long of Tybee Island; three sons, Daniel G. Long of Atlanta, Louis F. Long III of Easley, S.C., and John H. Long of Del Rio, Texas; two daughters, Jennifer L. Trotter of Kailua, Hawaii, and Sarah L. Parker of Toccoa; a sister, Margaret Hens of Fredonia, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Tybee Island with a rosary at 7 p.m. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, burial 2 p.m. in Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, with full military honors. -Savannah Now, Feb 2000
