More detail on this person: Robert Wayne Lanier Robert Wayne Lanier, 47, of Buena Vista, died Monday, July 18, 1994 at his residence. He was born July 26, 1947 in Danville. A son of Willie Edwin Lanier, Jr. and Ruth Savage Lanier of Buena Vista. Mr. Lanier was an attorney in the Buena Vista area for the last four years and was a member of the State Bar Assoc. He was a veteran of Vietnam, serving two tours, being discharged September 18, 1975 as a Captain with the U.S. Army. He received the distinguishing Flying Cross with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Purple Heart, the Air Metal and Vietnam Ribbon. Surviving in addition to his parents are one daughter, Leigh Dell Lanier, Ozark, Al.; one brother, Willie Edwin Lanier, III, Buena Vista; tw o nieces, Tara and Felicia Lanier. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 1994, at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. W. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery with Military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #126. Memorial donations may be made to the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church or the Victory Baptist Church in Buena Vista. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bolloing, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service, Buena Vista. Roanoke Times, July 20, 1994
