More detail on this person: Freddie Harold Lester Maj. Freddie Harold Lester, USAR (Ret.), 55, a native of Marietta, Miss., died Aug. 25, 1996, in a local hospice center. Lester had 31 years of service with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, most recently as chief of technical support for construction. He was a former resident of Memphis and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He also belonged to Gaston-Lee VFW Post 5660 and Alumni Association of the University of Missouri of Rolla. Survivors include his wife, Lexie V. Lester; his mother, Clemmie Hudson, both of Daphne; two daughters, Margaret Lester of Boynton Beach, Fla. and Sharon Lester of Daphne; two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Cathy Lester of Ft. Bragg, N.C. and Phillip and Stella Lester of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Madeline and Andrew. Services, with full military honors, will be held Aug. 28 at Bayview Funeral Home's Daphne chapel with the Rev. A.B. (Bubba) Sawyer officiating. Burial was in Bayview Cemetery in Daphne.
