More detail on this person: CWO William John "Bill" McGrath, Jr. William J. McGrath, 62, died on March 9, 2009 at his home in Bald Knob, AK. Bill was born on February 8, 1947 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was the eldest of three children. Mr. McGrath left his childhood home to join the service. He honorably served his country as a Huey Gunship Pilot in Vietnam. His bravery and heroism during the Vietnam War earned him a Silver Star, 2 Bronze Stars, Distinguished Flying Cross, and 4 Purple Hearts. He served with honor in the US Army as Chief Warrant Officer. After serving in the military, Bill owned a Florist in upstate New York for twenty years. He eventually moved on to become a traveling Right-of-Way Agent, but his green thumb never left him. Bill continued to maintain an impressive garden outside his home in Arkansas. William McGrath is survived by his daughter Shannon, her husband David White and granddaughter Raven of Georgia, his son Michael McGrath and grandson Michael, Jr of Statesboro, Georgia, and his son William Ryan McGrath, his wife Shannon and granddaughter Ahna and grandson William Brody McGrath of Naples, FL. His brother Patrick McGrath of Colorado and his wife Nancy. His sister Dale and her husband Jeff Williams of upstate New York, as well as, nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
