More detail on this person: John H Martens Jr, 67 OBITUARIES Sarasota Herald-Tribune (FL) - Tuesday, December 17, 1996 John H. Martens Jr., 67, Holmes Beach, died Dec. 16, 1996. He was born Aug. 7, 1929, in East Orange, N.J., and came to Holmes Beach 49 years ago from Buskirk, N.Y. He was a career military pilot for 13 years in the Navy and for 17 years in the Army. He later worked as a corporate pilot for Standard Marine in Tampa. Survivors include his wife, Sandra K. Haas-Martens; a daughter, Kelly Bican of Clarissa, Minn.; and three grandchildren. Services will be at a later date. Robarts Brothers Universal Memorial Center is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch, P.O. Box 9571, Bradenton, FL 34207.
