More detail on this person: Maj. Robert F. 'Scot' McClellan Robert F. 'Scot' McClellan, 62, Union, SC, died Sun., May 9, 2010, at home. A native of Altoona, he was the son of Harry & Elizabeth (Hatch) McClellan and had made his home in Union for the past five years. Survived by wife, Susan Marie; daughters: Nicole Elizabeth, at home and Heather Ivey & husband, John, Altoona; grandson, Jarrett Ivey, at home and 11 other grandchildren; sister, Vera Downs, Altoona; and nephew, Jason Downs & wife, Valerie, and their son, Alex, all Altoona. Mr. McClellan received a B.S. in political science from the Indiana Univ. of Pennsylvania and continued his studies toward a master's degree. He retired from the U.S. Army after 32 years, having served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. Before coming to Union, Scot was the owner of McClellan's Pallet Recyclers. Scot was an animal lover who owned horses, dogs and cats that he and his wife had rescued
