Graveside services with full military honors will be held 2:30 p.m. EST Monday at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Gallups officiating according to Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. The family will receive friends this evening (Sunday) from 6 to 8 p.m. EST at the funeral home. Mr. Michaud was born September 15, 1935 in Woonsocket, RI and was the son of the late Dianis Michaud and Edna McCarthy Michaud. He was retired from the United States Army where he served as a helicopter pilot. Mr. Michaud was awarded a multitude of commendations and service medals including the Purple Heart, Distinguish Flying Cross, and Bronze Star. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Seale, AL, member of the Blackcats 282 Association, and was a member of Seale Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Maurice Michaud. He is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Elaine Morris Michaud of Seale, AL; two daughters, Norma Jean Smith and husband, Cecil of Phenix City, AL and Wendy Evans and husband, Joe of Fayetteville, OH; one son, Normand Robert Michaud, Jr. and wife, Linda of Seale, AL; one sister, Margaret Jermyn of Hamilton, MA; six grandchildren, Robert Joseph Cantelli, Charles Michael Evans, Jonathon Evans (Kayla), Kristina Swinford (Michael), Normand Robert "Bo" Michaud III, and Mary Elaine Michaud; eight great grandchildren; much extended loving family and caring friends.
