More detail on this person: COL Robert L. McDaniel, USMA '45, former Commander of the 13th Combat Aviation Battalion and first Commander of the 164th Combat Aviation Group in Vietnam, whom we all knew and served with, passed away on Saturday morning, Feb 9, from a heart attack while in the Alexandria Hospital. Curt Herrick visited with the family yesterday and advised that funeral details are now being worked out by Jean and the family. Jean's daughter and son-in-law have been living in an apartment in the McDaniel's home that Bob had built out years ago for his mom and dad who had resided with him, so Jean has had family close to assist her and they are lending comfort and support. Anticipate that Bob will be buried at Arlington, where Jean has been an Arlington lady for many years.

From: Mrs. Robert L. McDaniel
