More detail on this person: Kynis Maynor Kynis Maynor Jr., 68, of Brighton, passed away on July 29, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday with visitation beginning 9:30 a.m. at Ward Presbyterian Church, 40000 Six Mile Road, Northville. He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly where full military honors will be rendered. He was born Jan. 16, 1945, in Lumberton, N.C., a son of Kynis and Madis (Lowry) Maynor Sr. He graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor of science in 1968. Following his graduation he proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring as a major in 1988 after 20 years of service. Kyn married the love of his life, Chryal L. Baker on May 10, 1969, and was a devoted husband for 44 years. After his retirement from the Army he was self-employed government contractor, ultimately retiring in 2012. Kynis adored his family; he was an ambitious father and his family's hero. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association; passionate about aviation, he enjoyed being a helicopter pilot. Kyn, a volunteer firefighter, also enjoyed travelling and beekeeping. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his loving wife; his two children; his mother; his five grandchildren; and his siblings. The visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W.
