More detail on this person: Donald Thomas McDevitt, 74, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday, St. Michael Catholic Church, Bedford. Inurnment: at a later date in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation; 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst. Donald T. McDevitt was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Dec. 5, 1936. He served his country honorably as a U.S. Army major and helicopter pilot from 1958-1967, earning the Army Aviation Badge, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device 60, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. After his decorated military career, he went on to attend the University of Oklahoma Law school graduating in 1974. Survivors: Wife, Susan McDevitt; sons, Donald, Kevin and wife, Mary, Michael and wife, Tina; siblings, Faith and Marc; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a host of other family and friends.
