More detail on this person: Kurt Mason Kurt Mason, 75, of Everett passed away suddenly on January 29, 2010. Kurt was born April 5, 1934 in Seattle, WA. He was a pilot in the Marine Corps and retired after 20 plus years, holding the rank of Major. Following the Marine Corps Kurt worked for 38 years as an airplane mechanic and instructor. He was active with the Museum of Flight Restoration, ME 262 Project, Everett Community College and belonged to the Washington Pilot's Association as well as the Marine Corps Association. Kurt enjoyed flying, rebuilding airplanes, being useful, helping those he knew, travel, museums and reading. Kurt is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Joan Driscoll Mason; his children, Kevin, Karen Mason-Blair and Kimberly Mason-Hatt; his brother, Jim Mason; and many grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery in Everett with a reception following.
