More detail on this person: Lt. Col. Howard Alan May, 88 years old, died on April 10, 2013, in Clovis, Ca. Howard was born on on Dec 31, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Ut.

Howard loved scouting and earned his Eagle Scout rank. He had strong ethical values by which he lived and expected the same of others. He enlisted in the military in 1943 mainly serving as a pilot flying helicopters and fixed wing aircraft, retiring in 1971. Howard obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Ag Science at California State University, Fresno in 1979. He was employed by FmHA retiring in 1986.

Howard married Jean Lust on June 23, 1945, in Fresno Ca. They had four children. Howard was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served in various positions. He and his wife, Jean, served as full time family history missionaries in the Birmingham England Mission.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Lewis and Glen (Pratt) May; his sister, Marian Hayes; and his brothers, Lewis May and Frank May.

He is survived by Jean, his wife of 67 years; four children, Linda and Jim Duffield, Scott and Paulee May, Ellen Medeiros, and Carolyn and Rick Derricott; 16 grand children; 38 great-grand children;, and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be at Lisle Funeral Home on April 16, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Ashlan Chapel, 5025 W Ashlan Ave. on April 17, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Fresno Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 'L' Street, Fresno
