More detail on this person: Norman Leo Moore, 57 OBITUARIES Gazette, The (Colorado Springs, CO) - Sunday, September 28, 1997 NORMAN LEO MOORE, 57, died Sept. 26, 1997, in Colorado Springs. He was a pilot for United Airlines and a retired Army chief warrant officer. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mountain View Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Gerald A. Kahre officiating. Military honors by the Fort Carson Honor Guard are planned. Burial is planned in Hamilton, Mont. Mr. Moore was born Dec. 16, 1939, in Plentywood, Mont., to Earl and Mildred (Nelson) Moore, who are deceased. He was married Aug. 20, 1983, in Colorado Springs to Elizabeth McDougall Lowe, who lives in Colorado Springs. He also is survived by a son, Peter of Huntsville, Ala.; three stepstons, Bryan Lowe of Hamilton, Craig Lowe of Denver and Dan Lowe of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Veronika Williams of Colorado Springs; five brothers, Richard of Miles City, Mont., Lloyd of Billings, Mont., Calvin of Medicine Lake, Mont., Danny of Westby, Mont. and Doran of Denver; four sisters, Ferne Schultz of Kansas City, Kan., Marlys Marsh of Plentywood, Mont., Doris Jacobson of Parshall, N.D., and Sharon Forinash of Blue Springs, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald. Mr. Moore served in the Army for 29 years, attaining the rank of chief warrant officer. He received the Bronze Star, Air Medal with 14 Oak Leaf Clusters and Master Army Aviator Badge. He enjoyed camping and fishing, and was one of the few Army aviators to retire with more than 10,000 accident-free flying miles. Norm loved his family; his grandchildren were very important in his life. Mr. Moore had lived in Colorado Springs since 1973, having also lived in Montana, Germany and Alabama.
