More detail on this person: Hiller 12E blade failed at Wrangle, AK while working for Temsco Helicopters in Ketchikan, AK.

Date of death was 28 Sept 1978. Blade failed due to after market counter weight in blade failing and contacting the tail rotor. The aircraft was on final to landing Wrangel, 50' AGL at the time of the failure which caused the aircraft to contact the ground inverted.

Additional information about my father can be found in the book, Nine lives of an Alaska Bush Pilot, which is an Auto Biography by Ken Eichner. Ken Eichner was the owner of TEMSCO and pioneer of Alaskan bush aviation.

For other information, or if anyone has information about my father's tour in Vietnam, I would love to hear about it.

Nate Maplesden, CW2 AV, B Co 1/207th AVN
