More detail on this person: Marvin Eugene Nester, 63 NESTER Jefferson City News-Tribune (MO) - Friday, October 15, 1999 Marvin Eugene Nester, 63, Brewton, Ala., died Oct. 12, 1999, at his home. He was born April 14, 1936, near Wolf Pen, W. Va., a son of John S. and Bessie Lona Hylton Nester. He was married Aug. 8, 1959, in Nahunta, Ga., to Phyllis Mae Akin, who survives at the home. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and two Bronze Stars. He was a member of the VFW and Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. Other survivors include: one son, Jeffery Cline, Rainell, W. Va.; three daughters, Marvetta Gallagher, Lititz, Pa., Michele Kelling, Westcliffe, Colo, and Marlena LeBlanc, DeWitt, Iowa; two brothers, Roy Nester, Sandspoint, N.Y., and J.E. Nester, Madison, W.Va.; four sisters, Avis Walters, Lakeland, Fla., Lou Fuson, Wayne, W. Va., Hazel Phipps, Crumpler, N.C., and Ruth Cox, Bondurant, Iowa; and nine grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial, with military honors, will be in Akinsville Cemetery, near Versailles. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
