Nichols, III, age 54, of Roswell, GA, died January 24, 1999 of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Mr. Nichols was a retired Captain in the US Navy, was a Captain Pilot with Northwest Airlines and a member of the Roswell Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Nichols of Roswell; children, Christopher John Nichols of NY; Karen Kay Nichols, Eric Matthew Nichols and Katherine Michelle Nichols, all of Atlanta, GA; grandson, John Christopher Nichols of NY; four sisters, three brothers; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 28, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at the Roswell Presbyterian Church with Dr. Lane Alderman officiating. Interment, Green Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, Roswell/Alpharetta. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ALS Association.
