More detail on this person: I was Aide de Camp to the general in 69-70 at the US Army Aviation Systems Command in St. Louis, MO.

MG John (Jack) Norton was the commanding general of the 1st Cavalry Division in 1966 in Vietnam. He graduated from flight school in 1956 and was one of the early pioneers of Army Aviation. He was both rotary and fixed wing qualified. He passed away on Dec. 15, 2004. He retired from the US Army as a LTG. He is also in the US Army Aviation Hall of Fame. Ironically, on D Day he was a LTC in the 82nd Airborne and landed on a cow when he jumped into France. That was a very interesting story as was the rest of the D-Day adventure that he talked about one time to us in the office.
