More detail on this person: Louis J. Oddone Louis J. Oddone, 81, passed away December 27, 2011 in Carson City, Nevada. He was born April 9, 1930 in Oakland, California to Celeste and Maria Oddone. A young Louis received an A.B. degree, Magna Cum Laude, in 1952 from St. Patrick's Seminary in Menlo Park, California, where he studied Philosophy, French, Latin and Greek. Louis then attended the University of San Francisco, California majoring in engineering. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953 where he flew as a helicopter pilot. Louis flew combat missions in Vietnam, was stationed in Germany and deployed to Lebanon. Louis was honorably discharged from the Army in 1963 with numerous awards and decorations. He then enlisted in the Nevada Army National Guard serving his country for another fifteen years finally retiring from the military in 1990. Louis was employed by the Carson City School District for twenty-five years where he taught science, math and English. Later he became the guidance counselor. Louis enjoyed dancing, travel, RV'ing, carpentry, car restoration, gardening, photography and playing one of his accordions. He also enjoyed performing in the Senior Follies with the Carson City Senior Center. He attended St Mary's in the Mountains Catholic Church in Virginia City. Louis was a member of the VFW and the Italian Benevolence Society. He had volunteered at the Carson -Tahoe Hospital.
