More detail on this person: Charles N. Osborne, Jr. 82, of Cord, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.

Born Saturday, January 19, 1929 in Cord, he was the son of Charles N. Osborne, Sr. and Thelma Long Osborne.

He retired as a Naval Aviator from the U. S. Navy after 23 years of active duty service. He was a member of the Cord Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Charles was a man of God and a devoted, faithful and humble servant. He was a member of the Library Board, the WRMC Hospital Board, and the Soil Conservation Board. He was a giver, respectful of all people, a good husband and father, and he loved to laugh.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy LaNell Thompson Osborne; a daughter and son-law, Carol Fuller and Gerald Fuller of San Antonio, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Paula Osborne of Cord, and Captain Kay Michael and Tracy Osborne of Memphis; six grandchildren, Stacey Ferguson, Ashley Fuller, Amber Davis, Charles Osborne IV, Danielle Osborne and Alexandra Osborne; three great-grandchildren, Lillian Ferguson, John Ferguson V, and Cambry Davis; and a sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and George Catton of Batesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Anderson, Don Wayne Anderson, David Anderson, Mark Long, Charley Osborne and Jim Williams.

Honorary pallbearers are Chuck Seasholtz, O. A. Winkles, Leonard Westbrook, John Nelson Baker, George Catton and present and past Cord Baptist Church deacons.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Cord Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Childers and Bro. Andy Bullington officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Cord under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
