Daniel Prescott, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on the 19th of September 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mabel Prescott and his first wife, Marsha Cameron Prescott. Dan is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Prescott; his children, Diane Prescott Miller, Eve Prescott Moulds; and Dan Harvey Prescott; his step-children, Michael, Mark, and Jann Curtis; his sisters, Alice Sleasman and Ann Hopkins; three grand daughters, two step-grand children, and one great-granddaughter.

Dan was born on June 21, 1921 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He attended Muhlenberg College and graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1945. He served in the United States Army for over thirty years and retired as a Colonel in 1975 after a distinguished military career. He was a Master Army Aviator and a Senior Parachutist. During the Korean War, he was awarded the Silver Star and two Distinguished Flying Crosses. He went on to command an infantry battalion in the 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. During the Vietnam War, he commanded the 52nd Aviation Battalion, where he was awarded another Distinguished Flying Cross. He later served as the Deputy Assistant Commandant of the United States Army Primary Helicopter School at Ft. Wolters, Texas; the I Corps Aviation Officer in Korea; and the 1st U.S. Army Aviation Officer at Ft. Meade, Maryland. His final assignment was as the Senior Army Advisor to the 36th Airborne Brigade for the Texas Army National Guard in Houston. A memorial service was held on 6 October 2006, at the Forest Park East Cemetery, Webster, Texas, followed by grave side services, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to "The West Point Fund", 698 Mills Road, West Point, NY 10996.
