More detail on this person: PARROTT LT. COL. EDGAR ANTHONY Dallas Morning News, The (TX) - Sunday, October 31, 2004 PARROTT, LT. COL. EDGAR ANTHONY "Tony" PARROT, USAR-Ret., passed away Thursday, October 28 in his home in Richardson, Texas, after a year long battle with cancer. Born August 6, 1947, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, to Felix and Oleta Parrott, formerly of Kosciusko, Mississippi, Tony graduated from Kosciusko High School in Kosciusko, Mississippi, in 1965. After attending Mississippi State University, he joined the Army in 1968, serving in the Vietnam War in 1969 and 1970 as a Cobra helicopter gunship pilot. For his heroism Tony was twice decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross in addition to numerous other medals. While continuing on active duty in the Army for the next seven years, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Troy State University. He continued as an Army Reservist for the next twenty years, serving in the Persian Gulf War in 1991, retiring in 1996. Tony's civilian career began in sales including twelve years with General Electric and concluded as an IT Manager for Computer Sciences Corporation. Tony is survived by his loving wife, Paula "Polly" Boone Parrott originally of Montgomery, Alabama; four children: Anthony Christian Parrott, Aubrey Matthew Parrott, and Amy Franklin of Richardson, and Angela Parrott Britt of Quinlan, Texas; five grandsons: Trey Franklin, Evan Parrott, Brian Brooks, Robert and Jimmy Britt, a brother, Gary Parrott of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and a sister, Pamela Parrott Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee, a nephew, Adjryche Channing, and three nieces: Jan Ellis, Joni Trosin, and Jill Parrott. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 2 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 12727 Hillcrest, Dallas, TX 75230 with visitation beginning at 9 am, in the narthex of the church, funeral service following at 10 am. A military burial service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Dallas-Ft.Worth Veterans' National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
