More detail on this person: Ronald Tracy Perdue, 72, husband of Elsie James Perdue, died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born July 5, 1942 in Potomac Heights, Maryland, he was the son of the late Juel Kircheth and Donna Marie Tolliver Perdue. He was the top cadet graduate of Carlisle Military Academy in Bamburg, SC. He was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served two tours of duty in the Green Berets and a third tour of duty as a combat helicopter pilot. He was wounded in combat and was responsible for saving many lives. Mr. Perdue was a graduate of the University of Central Florida. He was the retired owner and operator of a dental lab technician business in Lake Wales, Florida and Bradenton, Florida. He attended Lebanon Baptist Church in Anderson.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie; daughter, Cynthia Lynn Perdue Wade and husband, Thomas of Anderson and Bradenton, Florida; son, Bryon Tracy Perdue and wife, Sherill of Anderson; seven grandchildren, Jennifer and Taylor Shupsky, Bryon Tracy Perdue, Jr., Andrew Christopher and Nathan Oliver Perdue, Clarenz Karl and Hannah Garganta Gliane; three great grandchildren, Elijah Xzier Burch, Aiden Trey and Emily Amber Perdue; one sister, Donna Jean Hurdiss and husband, Wayne of Marietta, Georgia; and two sisters-in-law, Jane Perdue of Summerville and Louella Perdue of Jupiter, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jay K. Perdue and Richard L. Perdue.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery conducted by Dr. Ron Fousek. Military honors will be provided by the Campbell Patriots Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary.
