Pederson May 31, 1945 - Oct. 17, 2013 Thomas Jonathan Pederson peacefully passed away at Modesto Memorial Hospital on 17 October 2013 at the age of 68.Tom is lovingly remembered by his son's Michael Pederson of Jacksonville, FL; Jim Pederson of Arlington, TN; sister Janis Hendren of Los Banos, CA; and loving, nephews and other relatives. Tom was born in Brainerd, MN in 1945. In 1959 the family moved to Los Banos, CA, where he attended and graduated from Los Banos High School in 1963. He later went on to earn a Degree in Forestry from Humboldt State College in 1969. Upon graduation, Tom joined the U.S. Navy and attended flight school in Pensacola, FL. In 1970, he completed primary flight training, earning his coveted "wings of gold," and was designated as a Naval Aviator. He remained in the U.S. Navy, spending 20 years as a decorated and distinguished Naval Officer until his retirement in 1990. Tom enjoyed aviation, wood working, artistry, and spending time with his family. The funeral service will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on 30 October 2013 at 1:30 pm. A U.S. Navy Chaplain will deliver the service accompanied by full military honors. Internment to follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Road Santa Nella, CA 95322.
