More detail on this person: Rudy C. Perkins, LTC, RET 67, of St. Petersburg passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 at his home in the arms of his loving wife. Rudy served his country for 30 years in the Army, was a Green Beret, Master Parachutist, and Aviator. He served three tours in Vietnam and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and numerous air medals with Valor. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Central Connecticut University, a Master's Degree in History from Pepperdine University, and a Master's Degree in Accounting from University of South Florida. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Perkins; his mother, Marguerite Perkins; his two sons, James Perkins and Daniel Perkins; his two daughters, Debra Koharik and Stacy Sinibaldi; his six grandchildren, Eddie, Thomas, Daniel, Julie, Matthew, and Dominic; his six siblings, Jerry Perkins, Melinda Repich, David Perkins, Celise McLaughlin, Stephen Perkins, and Judy Brownstein. He was preceded by his father, Claude Perkins. There will be a gathering of friends and family to celebrate his life on Thursday, June 25th, 4:00-8:00pm. A memorial service with military honors will be held on Friday, June 26th at 10:00 am, both at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home.
