More detail on this person: Maj Donald Edward Pratt, 69 Obituaries San Antonio Express-News (TX) - Wednesday, April 13, 2005 Maj. Donald Edward Pratt (U.S.A. Ret.). Don was born in San Antonio, TX July 7, 1936 to Gladys and Bill Pratt, Sr. who predeceased him in death as did second wife Patricia, sister, Carolyn Hyduke and brother John Pratt. Don attended Brackenridge H.S. and later Our Lady of the Lake University, where he earned a B.S. Degree in Business Adm. Don's first career was in Army Aviation. He was a Senior Helicopter Pilot who served two tours in Vietnam as a Combat Pilot, where he earned many Medals and Citations for saving lives and inflicting heavy casualties and damage to enemy positions. On Don's last tour he was the Commanding Officer of a Helicopter Gunship Squadron. Well Done Soldier. Don's second career was in Houston in the Insurance Industry, where he served such companies as Wausau Ins. and others. He was in the Workers Comp Fraud Investigation Unit of these Companies. Don retired in 2001 and moved to Livingston, TX., where he resided until his death. Don is survived by his son Jeffery Allan Pratt, daughter Mona Lynn Rush, grandsons Daniel and Zachary Rush, brother Bill Pratt, Jr./wife LaVerne, sister Kathleen Schuette/husband Al and first wife and friend Patricia Oliver Nyquiest all of San Antonio, TX. Don's Houston "Adopted" Family were his "Special People", Judy Glaze/husband Bert of Cypress, TX, Joyce Muckridge/husband Jim and Andy Schreck/wife Sherry all of Missouri City, TX. These were his valued friends and co-workers. Funeral and Interment will be Friday April 15th at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:45 A.M. with Full Military Honors. Services will be conducted by Pastor V.W. Welshans. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Don's name to Army Relief, American Cancer Society of the charity of your choice.
