More detail on this person: At the end of WWII, Delyle Redmond joined the Marine Corps from his home state of Wisconsin. After discharge, he attended Ripon College. At graduation he was commissioned as a regular Army Lt. in Korea. He was wounded twice while leading a Rifle Platoon with the 17th Regt, 7th Inf Div. later he was a Paratrooper company commander in the 101 ABN Div. he also jumped with the Vietnamese Airborne. He served two tours in Vietnam as a Fixed Wing and Helicopter Pilot and battalion commander. The Col is a Combat Infantryman, Master Army Aviator and a Paratrooper. He has received over 40 citations for valor and meritorious service. He has served in Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Germany and Iran. Retiring after 29 years of service, he and his wife Evelyn have lived in Roseville for over 30 years. A graveside service will take place on Friday, September 25th at 11am at Lakeside Memorial Lawn in Folsom.
