More detail on this person: Bill R. Reneau Bill R. Reneau passed away on December 12, 2006 after fighting lung cancer and pneumonia. He went peacefully to glory surrounded by the prayers of his loved ones. Bill was born November 29, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to Floyd Edward Reneau and Amie Lee Christopher. He joined the United States Army November 19, 1944 and served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. During his Army career he fought in the trenches of Korea as and Airborne Infantryman and also piloted helicopters and fixed wing aircraft in Vietnam. He earned many commendations including the Bronze Star and the Air Medal for bravery in combat. Bill retired from the Army June 30, 1968 as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 but he continued to love the Army for the rest of his life and was proud to see several of his children and grandchildren follow in his footsteps with Army careers of their own. He went on to become Dallas Peace Officer and achieved two college degrees in Theology and Applied Science. He was a prominent member of his church and served as a missionary for two years in France.Survivors include his loving wife, Sherry; her children Russell, Christine, David and Christopher; Bill's children Tom, Judy, Bill, and Tammy; and Bill's brother Roland and all of their families.A Memorial Service will be held at Fort Sam Houston Veteran's Memorial Cemetery on December 18, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in San Antonio, Texas.
