He was the son of the late John and Vera (Maske) Reichard. Phil was athletic during his attendance at Polo High School, especially in football and track. Right after school, Phil was a drag racer who traveled all over the country as "The Little Farmer." Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War for two tours as a Helicopter Gunship Pilot. He also flew in Germany, out of Fulda, patrolling the border when the country was still divided into West and East Germany. Following his military service he flew helicopters as an aerial applicator in the vineyards of Germany and in Africa with the World Health Organization. While in Germany he met the love of his life, Magdalena. After returning to the United States, he eventually became an employee of York Building Products, Inc., in York, PA. He was the company helicopter pilot, and later the general manager of their sand and gravel plant in Maryland. Philip became a member of the 228th Assault Support Helicopter Company of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, flying the CH-47 Chinook. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2000, he retired from York Building Products to devote his time to fighting the affliction and to spend time with his wife, family and friends. Phil was an avid fisherman and fan of the Chicago Bears. He enjoyed traveling and made numerous cruises and trips all over the world with family and friends. He is survived by Magdalena, his adoring wife of 36 years; daughters Karen and Jennifer; grandsons Addison and Landon; and sons-in-law Matt and Julius. He is also survived by a brother, Wayne Reichard, and his wife, Sue. He is also survived by his nephews, Steve, Scott, Dan, and grand nephew Jake; and his nieces, Dana, Kelley, Keely, and grand niece Ally. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Price.
