More detail on this person: Charles B. Roper, Jr. Charles B. Roper, Jr., age 78 of Rockwall, TX, passed away July 10, 2013. He was born August 8, 1934, in Birmingham, AL, to Charles Burnom Roper, Sr., & Hazel (Neely) Roper. Charles proudly served his country with pride with two tours of duty in Korea and two in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot in the United States Army. He retired with the rank of CW4. Charles was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and baseball fan as well, with the Atlanta Braves being his favorite team. He is survived by his loving wife: Shirley (Weeks) Roper; daughters: Tracy Haines & husband Don and Jamie Ellis & husband Wayne; grandchildren: Cody and Jessica Ellis; and sister: Carolyn Joy Iannone. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Donald Roper; and sister: Betty Jo Noble. A graveside service will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
