More detail on this person: According to ArmyAirCrews.com CW4 Gerald L. Randall died 27 February 1980 in OV-1D #69-16999 on a routine training mission from Libby AAF when it entered a high speed stall and rolled inverted with insufficient altitude to recover. Investigation determined ejection was not attempted. The OV-1D Mohawk crashed 14 miles south east of Libby Army Airfield just prior to sun set. Gerry was conducting a low level reconnaissance in a mission-configured aircraft.

Gerry and I worked together. I was the Aviation Safety officer; first pilot on scene; confirmed the crash and initiated the Crash Alarm. Gerry served as the Operations Officer of the Maintenance and Aviation Division (MAD) at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center and school. He was within days of retirement. It was a tragic loss.
