Riden, of West Plains, MO, formerly of Rolla, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the age of 77. He was born in Bunker, MO on November 14, 1935 to the late Luther and Maude (Rice) Riden. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ann Riden, one brother, Dewey Riden, and one sister, Eileen O'Neal. Mr. Riden was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army being honorably discharged after twenty-six years of service. He enjoyed working on his farm where he raised cattle and dogs. He will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes his wife, Ann Darlene Riden, of West Plains; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Vickie Riden, of Lebanon, MO, and Dean and Belquis Riden, of Springfield, MO; three sisters, Lillian Hastings and husband Sam, of Branson, MO, Imogene Horn and husband Jim, of Rolla, and Adra Spencer and husband Paul, also of Rolla; six grandchildren, Michael, Brittani, Ashli, James, Andrew, and Christopher Riden; nieces, nephews, other extended family members and dear friends. A funeral service for James Riden will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service Wed. beginning at 10 a.m. Interment with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Howell Valley Cemetery in rural West Plains, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
