More detail on this person: Henry C. Rousey DEATHS Pantagraph, The (Bloomington, IL) - Wednesday, June 5, 2002 BLOOMINGTON - The funeral of Henry C. Rousey, 64, of 1663 Park St., Simi Valley, Calif., formerly of Bloomington, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, the Rev. Ron Thacker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the memorial home. He died Thursday (May 30, 2002) at V.A. Hospital Wadsworth, Los Angeles, Calif. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory. He was born Aug. 15, 1937, in Bloomington, a son of Horace and Melba Roberds Rousey Sr. He married Sandy Dahlquist in October of 1959, in Champaign. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Jacqueline (Jeremy) Riggleman, Texas, and Wendy (Randy) Hammons, Kentucky; three sons, Shawn (Ali) Rousey, Barry Rousey and Shane Rousey, all of California; six brothers and sisters, James E. (Anna) Rousey, Arkansas, Clarence W. (Rozetta) Rousey, Colorado; Barbara J. (Donald) Myers, Pekin; Donna Rousey, Bloomington; Sherry L. (Calvin) Ward, Tennessee; and Stephen L. (Debra) Rousey, Bloomington; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. He was born and raised in Bloomington. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1954 and later earned a commission as an officer in 1967. He served in Vietnam from 1968-1970, sometimes acting as an interpreter since he spoke Vietnamese. He spent most of his career as an Armor officer, retiring as a Major in 1978. He and his wife moved to California in 1985 and have lived there since. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends, he will be sorely missed.
