More detail on this person: Jerry Wesley Serratt of North Richland Hills died peacefully in Fort Worth on Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at the age of 77. Burial: will be in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association , alz.org; Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org; or a charity of choice . Jerry was born Oct. 23, 1937, in Wichita Falls to Kelley and Thelma Serratt. After graduating from Midwestern University in 1961, Jerry was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army, served in Korea and Vietnam, and finished his Army career at the Pentagon. Included among his awards for military service were the Bronze Star Medal, the Air Medal and the Legion of Merit. Jerry and Patsy Ann Clancy married in Baltimore, Md., in 1962, and settled in Falls Church, Va., after welcoming sons Kevin and Kent. Following Jerry's retirement from the U.S. Army as a lieutenant colonel in 1981, the couple returned to Jerry's native Texas. He continued his career next at General Dynamics, then as a nursing home administrator and finally as a volunteer credentialed mediator in Tarrant County. Jerry's family would like to thank Josie Morton for her care and devotion. He was preceded in death by his parents. Kelley Serratt and Thelma Smithee Serratt; and a brother, Noel Serratt. Survivors: His wife of 53 years, Patsy Clancy Serratt of North Richland Hills; sons, Kevin Serratt of Houston and Kent Serratt and wife, Connie, of DeSoto; brother, Olen Serratt and wife, Marilyn Obrig, of Waynesville, N.C.; and beloved grandchildren, Dylan Serratt of Houston, Maddie Serratt of Houston and Parker Holland of DeSoto.
