More detail on this person: Lt. Col. Donald Ray Sinor Theo Gabbard Hazard Herald, The (KY) - Thursday, April 6, 2006 Lt. Col. Donald Ray Sinor, 67, (formerly of Hazard), died Thursday, March 30, 2006. He was the son of the late Louis and Della Pigman Sinor. During high school Don was all state in basketball and football for the state of Kentucky. He attend UK and started all four years on the football team as a defensive and offensive lineman. He was a Lt. Col. in the US Army and served as an aviator for 20 years flying a variety of Helicopters, but primarily Chinooks. He served three tours in Vietnam and was awarded five distinguished Flying Crosses, three Bronze Stars and one Silver Star for valor. After retirement, he worked as a cattleman and raised horses on the the family ranch. He loved working outdoors and with his hands. Above all else he was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who seemed to be able to take care of anything. He is survived by his wife, Ruthie Jane Wasson Sinor; 2 daughters, Dr. Carla Clabough and her husband, Chad of TN; Dr. Elicia Kennedy and her husband Kevin of Little Rock, AR; 1 son, Jack Dean Sinor of Atlanta; 4 grandchildren, Jacob and Jewel Clabough, Clark and Knight Kennedy; 2 brothers, Dean Sinor of KY; James Sinor of FL. Please make donations to the American Diabetes Association, First Christian Church or the Ozark Humane Society. Funeral was conducted Monday, April 3, 2006 at First Christian Church in Harrison, burial in the Maplewood Cemetery.
