More detail on this person: William Lyle Seymour, 81 of Bella Vista AR, formerly of Babylon NY on April 22, 2017. Beloved husband of Janet Seymour, Cherished father of Michael Seymour (Jeannine), Tricia Seymour (Debbie Wingert) and Kristin Bickerton Seymour. Loving grandfather of Sophia and Emily Seymour and Tyler and Lia Bickerton. Family and friends may visit Sunday, 2:00-4:30pm at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Homes, 448 West Main Street, Babylon NY. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:15 am at St. Joseph's RC Church, Babylon NY. Quiet Birdman Bill Seymour took up the cardinal heading of 2702 and has Gone West on his Eternal Flight. He was recuperating after surgery, passing suddenly at home in Bella Vista, Ark. He was born in Mineola, N.Y. Bill proudly served in the United States Army as a helicopter pilot conducting combat medivac missions in Vietnam over heavy enemy ground fire. He was quiet about his missions ...discussions reserved to those among him who would understand "conditions involved." Prior to retiring he served with the New York Air National Guard as a flight instructor including fixed wing aircraft. He enjoyed building model airplanes and gardening. He and fellow QBs of the XNA Northwest Arkansas, Bella Vista Hangar, volunteered weekly for several years at the Drake Military Museum, Fayetteville, Ark., rebuilding warbirds. Bill especially preferred the work involving restorations of helicopters he flew in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Eileen Wilkinson, Joan Davis, and brother Bud. He treasured his family and was devoted to his surviving wife Janet, in a marriage of more than 50 years, daughters Tricia and Kristin, and son Michael. A funeral mass was celebrated in Babylon, N.Y. on May 1, 2017 at the St Joseph's RC Church. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery. The traditional "missing man formation" floral arrangement (three red and one elevated white rose) was sent to the celebration Mass by XNA.
