More detail on this person: Roman J. "Stobbe" Stobbe, age 76, passed away February 16, 2006 in Colorado Springs, after a courageous battle with cancer. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Margaret, daughters Cathy (Ray) Wild, Jeanne (Tom)English, and grandchildren Julie, Heather, Lisa, Allie, Sarah, Mike, Andrew, Mandy, and Mark. He will be dearly missed. A decorated Army veteran; he flew helicopters in Vietnam and was awarded both the Silver Star and Bronze Star. He was proud to serve his country. Stobbe was passionate about his yard, garden, and animals after growing up on a Nebraska farm. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. There will be a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Soldier's Memorial Chapel, Fort Carson, CO 80913. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Stobbe's name may be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbott Lane, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80905.
