More detail on this person: The following is an excerpt from Jim's obituary as it appeared in The Free Lance-Star of Fredericks, VA on June 12, 2008:

Retied U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. James Edward "Jim" Scoggins, 63, of Stafford County passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008, at his residence.

Lt. Col. Scoggins was a retired Marine Corps aviator and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was the commanding officer of H&MS-39 at Camp Pendleton, CA.

A friend to all Marines and a lifetime member of Mickey Finn's Detachment of the Marine Corps League, he was a tremendous fan and supporter of the Young Marines of Quantico.

Survivors include his wife and long-haired roommate, Lindsey Stokes Scoggins; four children, James Thomas Scoggins of Las Vegas, NV, Charles William Scoggins of Huntsville, AL, Christopher Lee Knowles and his wife Barrie, of Willow Spring, NC, and Teresa Scoggins Vilensky and her husband, Alex, of Dallas, TX; and six grandchildren, Katie, Nicholas, Erin, Natalie, Brandon and Jason. He also leaves his beloved dog, Pootie. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sophie Scoggins of Bonifay, FL.
