More detail on this person: Dunell Schull Dunell Schull died of cancer January 21, 2012 in Alexandria VA. The funeral was March 1st at St. John Lutheran Church in Alexandria, followed by a full military honors burial at Arlington National Cemetery. Dunell was born July 31, 1932, son of Ernest and Gladys (Rue) Schull in Blue Earth County, MN. As a youngster he built toys out of tobacco cans and peach crates, and filled sketchbooks with airplanes and rockets. He graduated valedictorian of Pemberton High School in 1950, and from the University of MN in 1955. He was called into active duty as an Aviator in the US Army Corp of Engineers. He married Voncile Beasley, of Dothan, AL. They had two daughters, Lisa and Amy. Dunell served two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, two Air Medals with Valor, Air Force Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Services Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and a Republic of Vietnam Service Medal. In 1971, he earned a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Ohio State University. Lt Col Schull retired from the Army in 1978 and worked for Analytic Services of Arlington, Virginia until fully retiring in 1994. In retirement Dunell entertained preschoolers with his harmonica playing and storytelling. Surviving Dunell are two daughters, Lisa (Joe) Burke, Warrenton, VA; Amy Schull, Herndon, VA; two grandchildren, Joey and Claire Burke; one brother, Ronald (Melva) Schull, Pharr, TX and rural Janesville, MN, and one sister Jeannie (Duane) Danielson, Alexandria, MN. Dunells wife, Voncile, died in 2000.
