More detail on this person: Sylvester, Ernest J., Col. USA Retired, 74 of Tampa, passed away on August 14, 2015. Born in New Orleans, LA, growing up in Gulfport, MS. Ernie served his country in the US Army in his early career as a Medevac pilot, and later as a Hospital Administrator. After retirement from the Army he worked in Managed Health Care. He moved to Tampa in 2000 and was an active member of the Tampa First Seventh Day Adventist Church where his passion was to serve the Lord where ever he was needed. He also served on the Board of Supervisors, Westchase Community Development District, and on the WOW (World of Westchase) Board of Directors, where he held many positions, including that of WOW's Inc. President. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Beth Sylvester, son; Ernest J. (Kirstin) Sylvester Jr., Sandra (Larry) Smith, daughter; Suzanne Renee (Michael) DeVincent, grandchildren; Stacey Cotter, Katie Sylvester, Cameron Sylvester, Aimee Sylvester, Amber Sylvester, Stephan Smith, Kayleigh Smith, Sarah DeVincent, and Ashley DeVincent, great grandson; Camden Cotter, sister; Mary Becht. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service with military honors at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Tampa First Seventh Day Adventist Church, 822 W. Linebaugh Avenue, Tampa, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Tampa First SDA Church of Tampa.
