More detail on this person: Floyd Donald Stuckey Floyd Donald Stuckey died December 23, 2011 at the Wesley Hospital in Wichita. His funeral service will be Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 10:30 in the First Christian Church in Winfield, Ks. Interment at Highland Cemetery Winfield. Friends may call Wednesday from 3:00-8:00pm and family will greet from 6:30-7:30 at the Funeral Home. Memorial has been established to help defray expenses and can be sent to Swisher-Taylor & Morris F. H -803 Loomis- Winfield, KS. 67156. Floyd Donald Stuckey went to his heavenly home on December 23rd with his family at his side. Floyd was born on October 1, 1937 to John L & Ola Mae (Harp) Stuckey in Winfield, Kansas. He grew up and received his education in Winfield graduating in 1955. Floyd joined the Army/National Guard in 1954 and spent 43 years serving his country. He continued his education during that time graduating from Northwest Schools in 1961 with Jet Engine, Cowley County Community College in 1964 with Associate of Arts degree & Wichita State University in 1969 with an Aeronautical Engineering degree. Floyd and Wilma Hoyt were married in 1961. Out of that union, they adopted two girls; Sheryl Ann & Pamela Jean. They later divorced. He worked most of his adult life as an aeronautical engineer for Beechcraft, Learjet and Cessna. Floyd was involved in many organizations. He was a member of the Boy Scouts where he received his eagle's award, American Legion, K & O Gas/Steam Association, Jaycees, was a National Guard reservist, part of the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief, and a member of First Christian Church since the day he was born. Floyd loved being outside piddling around with things. There usually wasn't anything that he could not fix. He was a friend to many. Floyd's children and especially his grand children were his world. You could find him on the side line cheering all the grandkids sports, building a tree house, celebrating birthdays, holidays and graduations, golfing, camping & fishing, building tractors, in parades, supporting choir events & fund raisers, tutoring & teaching and just being their when he was needed. Floyd is survived by his daughters; Pamela Ungles and husband Jon and Sheryl Dunbar and husband Charles. Grandchildren; Preston Ungles, Tristan Ungles, Clayton Ungles, Matt Stuckey, Mercedes Dunbar. Twin brother Lloyd Stuckey and his wife Mary Jo. 2 nieces, 3 nephews, several cousins and numerous close friends.
