More detail on this person: Mr Ernest W Saunders PAID DEATH NOTICES Richmond Times-Dispatch (VA) - Wednesday, July 31, 2002 Ernest W. Saunders of Toano, Va., passed away Monday, July 29, 2002. Survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Saunders; three children, Kathy L. Saunders-Emerson of Gloucester, Va., Cindy A. Schweitzer of Toano, Va. and Dale L. Saunders of Providence Forge, Va.; five grandchildren, Bridget M. Sanderlin, David L. Sanderlin, Tiffaney L. Saunders, Tabitha L. Saunders and Tamara R. Saunders; also one great-grandchild, Austin David Sanderlin. Mr. Saunders was retired from the United States Army with 33 years of service where he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Distinguished Flying Cross along with other medals. Remains rest at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside services with military honors will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to McGuire VA Medical Center or the Toano Fire and Rescue Squad.
