Jack Schnibben, Jr., age 78, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006 at his home after a long illness.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday Dec. 6, 2006 at Bethel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday Dec. 5, 2006 from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.Born in Wilmington, NC, he was the son of the late John H. Schnibben and Grace K. Raspberry Schnibben. He was a 1951 Citadel Graduate, and retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army, having served in Korea and Viet Nam. He was a former Lieutenant with the Olanta Rural Fire Department and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Frankie Floyd Schnibben of Olanta; two sons, Randolph K. Schnibben of New Smyrna Beach, FL and John H. Schnibben, III of Carlisle, PA.; one sister, Patsy Stone of Florence; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
