More detail on this person: Wayne R. Shugart Obituaries Fayetteville Observer, The (NC) - Monday, March 21, 2005 Retired Army Lt. Col. Wayne Robert Shugart, 58, of 3323 Quarry Drive, Fayetteville, died Friday, March 18, 2005. Mr. Shugart was an Army aviator veteran of the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. He was an avid hunter and was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Quail Unlimited, the Four Seasons Hunting Club and the Civil Air Patrol. Mr. Shugart was the interim director of the American Red Cross, Highlanders Chapter. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, in JFK Memorial Chapel. The burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with full military honors. The family will receive friends following the burial Tuesday at the Fort Bragg Officers' Club and from 7 to 9 tonight at Highland Funeral Service & Crematory. Mr. Shugart is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Shugart; a son, Air Force Capt. Todd H. Shugart and Mandy, of Sanford; and a brother, Kenneth L. Shugart of Oakton, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, Highlanders Chapter, 807 Carol St., Fayetteville, NC 28303.
