More detail on this person: Daniel Stewart Sibert, U. S. Army Retired, 69, of Winchester, VA, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at his home. Mr. Sibert was born June 3, 1940, in Strasburg, VA, the son of Medford and Flora Lewis Sibert. He retired as a CW4 from the U. S. Army where he was a helicopter pilot having served two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Woodmen of the World, and TROA.

Surviving is his son, Daniel S. Sibert II of Dallas, TX; his daughter, Brandy Bordelon of El Paso, TX; his granddaughter, Rhiley Alexandra Bordelon of El Paso, TX; his grandson, Jacob Tyler Sibert of Dallas, TX; and his best lifetime friend and confidant, Marilyn LaManna of Strasburg, VA. His half-brother, Alston Bogg preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, 5095 Main St., Stephens City, VA, with Pastor Vernon Bray officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Cemetery, Strasburg, VA, with military honors provided by the Strasburg American Legion Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 P.M., Friday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd, 645 Berryville Ave., Winchester, VA 22601 or to the Strasburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 620, Strasburg, VA 22657.
