SMITH, 50, of 34 Mount Cardigan Rd., Alexandria, N.H., a systems analyst for Freudenberg NOK, died Tuesday at home. He was the husband of Ruthann Kline Smith. Born in Providence, he was a son of Harlan and Ethel (Potter) Smith of Exeter. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he received the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters and the Bronze Star. He received his bachelor's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., and earned his master's degree in civil engineering from the Institute in 1974. He was an active member of Alexandria United Methodist Church. Besides his wife and parents he leaves a son, Matthew M. Smith, and two daughters, Abigail E. Smith Chase and Rebekah S. Smith, all of Alexandria, N.H.; a brother, Anson V. Smith of Grafton, N.H. He was the brother of the late Linwood A. Smith. The funeral and burial will be private.
