Stamos Obituaries Fayetteville Observer, The (NC) - Thursday, October 16, 2008 Marvin John Stamos, 68, of Fayetteville, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, in Duke University Medical Center in Durham. Mr. Stamos was a Vietnam War veteran and retired from the U.S. Army after more than 20 years of service. He was in the civil service for more than 20 years. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, in Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service in Fayetteville. Burial with full military honors will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at the funeral home; and also following the services Saturday at the home. Mr. Stamos is survived by his wife, Sharon Stamos of the home; mother, Gloria Smith of Sarasota, Fla.; sons, John Stamos of Brandywine, Md., and James Stamos of Raleigh; daughters, Deborah Glascock of Hillsborough, Diane Shelton and husband Terry of Fayetteville and Doreen Stamos of Leland; grandchildren, Jessica Hinajosa-Gonzales, David Thrailkill, Danielle Thrailkill, Kastille Shelton, Sarah Stamos, Ashley Stamos and Brook Stamos; great-grandchildren, Kayvean "Buddy" and Sylar "Bennie"; sisters, Louise and Theresa; and half sisters, Paula and Kimberly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301; or to the Duke Children's Hospital, 512 S. Mangum St., Suite 400, Durham, NC 27701.
