Stanley, Sr., 78, of Tolleson Az, passed away December 15, 2000 and was born June 2, 1922 in Huntington, WV. He was a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel for 32 years. Chuck's family was the joy of his life and he was never happier than when they were together. A retired Lt. Col., he served in the Army for 32 yrs. Veteran of WW II, Korea and Vietnam for which he received Army Occupation of Germany Medal, National Desert Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Korean Service Medal, Air Medal with 3rd Oak Leaf Award, Combat Infantry Badge-1st and 2nd Award, Air Force Reserve Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and Senior Army Officer Aviation Badge. Prior to retiring in Tolleson (1992), Chuck and family resided in Colorado Springs from 1962-1991. Survivors include wife of 55 years, Frances Stanley; sons, Thomas, Robert, and Charles Stanley, Jr.; daughter, Phyllis Roch; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and sister, Marie Kearns. Services Wed, 12/20/00, Crystal Rose Funeral Home. Burial with full Military Honors, Wed, 12/20/00, National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phx.
